Right Management, a Philadelphia-based outplacement firm, announced that they have launched iView, a Web-based tool that enhances video capability. Right Management claims that this new technology—when paired with coaching—greatly improves a potential employee's ability to land the position he or she wants.
iView will be added to Right Management's comprehensive outplacement package, RightChoice, which leans heavily on video technology. How does it work? Clients use a Web-cam to record simulated training interviews or presentations in a Right Management office. Afterward, a Right Management career coach assesses the video and works one-on-one with the client to make necessary changes.
According to Right Management's release, iView will provide a "richer, more progressive experience" to help potential employees feel more confident going into interviews. Right Management President and COO Douglas J. Matthews says, "Preparation is critical to success. Knowing how to skillfully and concisely communicate your message—during a job interview, when making a presentation, negotiating a job offer, or conducting a networking meeting—provides a unique competitive advantage."
Right Management says that the percentage of job candidates who felt well prepared for interviews rose from 33 percent before the outplacement program, to 85 percent after. "iView gives candidates the opportunity to prepare and practice their messages," Matthews says. "A good resume might get you in the door, but a great interview can get you an offer."
