Four Points by Sheraton Makes a Broadway Debut
June 26, 2009
By Allison Shafir

A new Starwood hotel is finding its place among the stars in Manhattan's theater district. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc announced today the debut of Four Points by Sheraton Midtown-Times Square, the brand’s third hotel in New York City. The new 244-room hotel is located on West 40th Street in Times Square.

This is the latest piece of Starwood’s larger effort to rejuvenate the Four Points by Sheraton brand. This effort has spurred over $1 billion of investment and a 70 percent turnover of the brand’s portfolio in the past five years.

“We are delighted to debut Four Points by Sheraton at the epicenter of New York City as a key part of our global growth and brand rejuvenation,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President, Specialty Select Brands for Starwood, in a statement. “Our expansion in New York City also addresses the rising demand for affordable and stylish lodging in urban areas.”

Four Points by Sheraton Midtown-Times Square joins Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan SoHo Village and Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Chelsea in the city. Along with this opening, Starwood has opened resort hotels in Punta Gorda, Florida, and San Antonio, Texas. Similar to other Starwood hotels, the Four Points hotel features Sheraton Four Comfort Beds, free Internet access, and 32-inch, flat-screen televisions.
