Making an Impact: Helping Hands September 22, 2008 Helping Hands Rewards founder to lead panel on corporate social responsibility
By Jeanie Casison
Corporate citizens seem to have a growing conscience, and many are trying to get a better grasp of how business activities are impacting the world at large. Corporate Social Responsibility is also gaining momentum in the world of motivation, with an increasing number of incentive professionals incorporating it into their programs.
Michael Arkes, founder of Helping Hand Rewards, a Chicago based company that specializes in teaching social enterprises how to showcase their products to the U.S. incentive market, will show others how they can make their mark during a seminar on Socially Responsible Incentives on Tuesday, September 23, from 3:15 pm to 4:30 p.m. Arkes will be joined by Helping Hand Rewards partners Greyston Bakery, World of Good and Women Helping Other Women, along with Maritz Manager of Merchandising and Sourcing Nicole Harris and ITAGroup Director of Individual Rewards Larisa Mendenhall to discuss the timely topic.
"Most companies are now realizing that Corporate Social Responsibility is good for their business, and are looking for ways to participate in CSR initiatives," says Arkes. "However, there is not enough information on how the incentive industry can respond to the corporate marketplace. On one side we have one corporation who wants to become more socially responsible. On the other side, there is a group of social enterprises that are producing products and giving people the opportunity to have gainful employment and overcome obstacles. Our goal is to communicate that there is an incredible opportunity to help corporate customers achieve their socially responsible goals."
Helping Hand Rewards will also be exhibiting at Booth 1903. Visitors can learn more about socially responsible initiatives from grass roots organizations such as Bright Endeavors, The Enterprising Kitchen, Greyston Bakery, Mercado Global, World of Good and Women Helping Other Women, and how their efforts help to support opportunities for people to improve their lives
